Deep Sea
This necklace is all about balance.
Blue and gold sit opposite each other on the color wheel—complementary, like the ocean and the sun. Without the golden light of the sun, the cerulean and cobalt blues of the water would not be visible.
The necklace begins with a bold cushion-cut glass bead, set between two gold-plated column motifs representing New Orleans. From there, the pattern descends, mirroring the depth of the ocean and the way visibility changes as you move downward.
With each drop, the tones deepen. Black beads mark the darker layers, but each is followed by a champagne bead—showing that as long as light remains, the cobalt hues can still be seen and appreciated.
As the piece reaches the ocean floor, the elements become more grounded—first softer, then stronger—ending in sharp, faceted black beads that reflect both toughness and glamour. At the base, a deep blue pinwheel bead anchors the necklace, symbolizing the constant movement of the ocean.
The design then rises again into a balanced pattern, flowing into the signature current motif—formed by graduated gold-plated hematite plates that represent strength and movement beneath the surface.
